At 6am on 3rd September 2010, Virgin1 'lost its virginity' (according to the continuity announcements made through the previous day) and became 'Channel One'. When Virgin Media Television was bought by BSKyB and became The Living TV Group, the licence for the Virgin name was not carried over, hence the required change in identification.
