From the14th of March 2009 through to the 30th, the channel aired a 'Hidden Japan' season of films and programmes 'in search of meaning in an extraordinary nation'. The idents and continuity were based on figures of speech, whilst the logo flipped from BBC FOUR to the Japanese numeral four.
